Synopsis:

3 D.A.R.E. is an innovative dance-theatre performance inspired by the uniqueness of Romanian Sign Language. It presents a possible world within the current urban context, impulsive and convulsive, a world of contrasts and discrepancies that coexist without truly affecting one another.

In this setting, deaf youth build a meaningful world, full of entrances and exits, an open world that warmly welcomes anyone seeking genuine connection. Communication in their universe happens through sound, visual impulses, music, poetry, and movement. This multimedia performance reimagines an existential, instinctual theatre, an invitation to reset our present-day human nature. Part of the music is created by deaf youth, assisted by thunder drums, Cymatics experiments, lasers that generate sound, and various percussion instruments. The voices of the deaf and hard of hearing will be heard, both literally and metaphorically, through poetry. The show is a dynamic version, a collage of existential theatre, contemporary dance, poetry, and technology. This seemingly impossible project with the deaf community restores my faith in our ability to make miracles happen.
