Synopsis: Based on a script written by Florin Piersic Jr., directed and performed by him, Freak Show vol. 2 is a show that aims not to let the audience lower their eyes to their smartphones. (The actor’s battle with modern world devices has meanwhile become fierce.)
Freak Show vol. 2 is by no means a “sequel” to the one-man show Piersic Jr. has been performing for nine years. Both shows are conceptually structured as suites of monologues. Each monologue portrays a different character. The core essence is comedy, but the tragic element often sneaks into Piersic Jr.’s stories.
In the Romanian theatrical landscape, Freak Show has become a landmark, a cult show. Between 2014-2021, Freak Show was invited to major festivals in the country (Timișoara, Sibiu, Cluj, Iași, Arad, Alexandria, Sfântu Gheorghe, Piatra Neamț, Alba Iulia, Brașov, Bacău) and traveled abroad (London, Brussels, Calgary, Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Toulouse, Cologne).
