Synopsis: A choreographic performance by Arcadie Rusu that explores the genius and inner turmoil of the legendary Vaslav Nijinski, one of the most enigmatic dancers of the 20th century. Through expressive movements, reimagined classical music, and dreamlike projections, it creates a surreal tableau where the boundaries between dream, memory, and madness dissolve.

The show reconstructs the journey from artistic peak to mental collapse. Dance becomes a portal to the delirium of an artist defying the limits of body and reality.

“In the lead role, Răzvan Mazilu, a star of contemporary dance, embraces Nijinski’s destiny with overwhelming intensity. He possesses a fragility hiding immense strength, a grace defying bodily limits, and a controlled madness that turns every gesture into an act of truth. Mazilu captures the essence of an artist consumed by his own genius, with each movement becoming a battle between the ecstasy of creation and the inner abyss. Mazilu doesn’t just perform Nijinski – he lives him, feels him, burns him from within, capturing with every move the contrast between ecstasy and agony, between dream and fall. The actors around him echo Nijinski’s thoughts, accompanying moments of transcendence and collapse of his mind, where reality and madness blend into a visceral tableau. The show is not just about Nijinski, but about the fragility of genius – about that fine line between creation and self-destruction, about those who burned too intensely and too quickly, leaving behind a light impossible to extinguish.” (Arcadie Rusu)
